Guntersville Woman Killed in Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer in Jefferson County

A woman from Guntersville died Thursday afternoon following a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer in Jefferson County, Alabama, according to authorities.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as a 44-year-old woman from Guntersville. Officials confirmed she was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle involved in the crash.

The collision occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Alabama Highway 79 at Narrows Road in the Pinson area. Emergency responders arrived shortly after reports of a serious crash involving a commercial truck and a passenger vehicle.

The victim sustained critical injuries and was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, she was pronounced dead at 1:39 p.m., officials said.

Authorities stated that the circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation. Investigators have not yet determined whether factors such as traffic conditions, speed, or other roadway elements contributed to the collision.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation and is continuing to gather evidence, review the crash scene, and interview witnesses.

No charges or citations have been announced at this time.
